Muhurta · timing for important beginnings

Choosing an auspicious
time

In Jyotish, the moment you begin is the birth of your undertaking. Unfavourable timing is associated with serious obstacles and failure to reach your goal. Choose the day and hour in advance — before taking the first step.

Why the beginning matters

An unfavourable start
can put your goal at risk

In Jyotish, the moment of beginning is used to cast the birth chart of an undertaking.

In the rules of Muhurta, certain unfavourable combinations are associated with major obstacles, thwarted plans and even the complete failure of an undertaking. Instead of developing it, you may find yourself struggling to keep it going.

That is why the day and hour are chosen before the first action: the chart of the beginning cannot be changed retrospectively. I assess the timing for your goal and the people involved, rule out unfavourable combinations and select a suitable moment. A generally “lucky day” is not enough — the specific hour for your undertaking matters.

01 · DAY AND HOUR

Morning and evening are different

Astrological conditions change throughout the day. Alongside a suitable date, I therefore select a specific time for the location of your event and explain which action should begin within that window.

02 · YOUR GOAL

Different undertakings have different rules

The timing of a marriage, planned conception or business opening is assessed against different criteria. A universal “lucky date for everything” is not enough for this kind of selection.

03 · PEOPLE INVOLVED

Favourable for you personally

Personal information is considered alongside the general indicators of the day. For weddings and conception, I compare the timing with the relevant factors in both partners’ birth charts.

When to get in touch

Choose the time
before finalising arrangements

The best time to get in touch is when you know what you want to begin but can still choose the dates. Once a venue is booked, a ceremony agreed or an opening day announced, there is less flexibility: the search for a suitable hour must fit within the constraints already set.

Start with the timing while your options are open. For a wedding, this lets you arrange the ceremony around the selected dates; for another undertaking, you can build the recommended time into your plans for the month or quarter.

How it works

From your plans
to a suitable time

01

You describe the event

What you are planning, where and within what timeframe. Let me know about any constraints: weekends, available marriage registration hours or a date already chosen.

02

We clarify the information

A personal selection requires your date, time and place of birth. For weddings and conception, I need both partners’ details; for conception, we also clarify current cycle information.

03

You receive your selection

Dates, start times and explanations. We agree on the search period and preparation time before work begins.

Frequently asked questions

What is the method based on?

The selection follows the rules of Muhurta in the Jyotish tradition. Sanjay Rath explains the connection between choosing a moment and the birth chart of an undertaking, distinguishing between timing that is favourable for a person and for a specific action. Read more in Muhurta Definition and Muhurta on the author’s website.

What counts as the beginning?

Before selecting a time, we define the specific action it will apply to. For a wedding, for example, we need to clarify in advance whether we are choosing the start of the legal marriage registration or the ceremony.

What if our wedding date is already set?

Let me know the date, location and available time window. I will check whether a suitable time can be found within those constraints. If they are too restrictive, we will discuss this before payment.

What do the five conception selections include?

These are five separate timing selections, used as needed. Each time, we clarify the current information and available period. This is not a list of five dates provided all at once.

What if my birth time is only approximate?

Tell me the known time range when you get in touch. I will explain which personal factors can be assessed with that information and whether your birth time needs to be clarified.

What if there are no suitable options in my chosen period?

I will explain the limitations of that period. By agreement, we can consider other dates or widen the search window.

Auspicious timing selection is an astrological recommendation. It does not guarantee the outcome of an event; timing selection for conception is not a medical assessment and does not promise pregnancy.
